Announcements

We would like to extend, once again, our greetings to you, and to provide a small reminder about the forthcoming Weekend.

On Saturday 31/1/26 the Vespers for Sunday of the Tax Collector and the Pharisee will take place at 6pm. These Vespers mark the start of the period of Triodion, setting the emphasis of humility above pride. The Ecclesiastical book of the Triodion is placed on the Chanter's stand and remains in place until Holy Saturday up to the eve of Resurrection.

On Saturday, 1/2/26, Orthros followed by the Holy Liturgy will start at 9am. After the end of the H. Liturgy the Feast of the Three Hierarchs, Sts Basileios the Great, Gregorios the Theologian and Ioannis Chrysostomos ("Golden-mouthed") will be celebrated. As these three Major Saints of the Orthodoxy are the protectors and patrons of Hellenic language and literature, the School of our Community will be not only participating, but will be having a significant role in the festivities, being present together with their teachers, honouring this Celebration.

Best wishes to all our parishioners,

The Very Rev Archimandrite Gregorios, Priest in charge

The Ecclesiastical/Community Committee

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!

The Twelwe Days of the Festivities were celebrated in our Community joyously, with Church Services, the Blessing & Cutting of the Vassilopita and the Feast of Theophany. Although the very cold and icy weater we followed our tradition and after the end of the H. Liturgy and the AYIASMOS in the Church we walked down by the river side of the Ouz so the waters of the vicinity receive the Blessing of Epiphany.

Time is flying, January will see one more Church Service on Sunday the 18th. On 1st of February we will celebrate the Feast of the Three Hierarchs, by honouring them we also honour all our teachers. More on this on the next newsletter.

As you can see on the poster, The Annual Ball of the Community will take place On 7th of February, it is Fundraising event that helps to sustain the needs of the Community, i.e the Church, the School and the Ladies Charity.

Please reserve your place to avoid disappointment.

Regards and Best Wishes
